Haix. After a long and tiring and gruesome trip, I finally reached home from KL. It took, erm, 7 hours. It should have been 5 but we stopped at a cemetery, or memorial park to make it sound better, to visit my grandma.
Actually I went to KL to pass time as my parents go South Korea for the real holiday. But it was really fun as everyday I could watch football and play PS2 from day to night. Now, back to work. Forget my earlier post about holidays being boring, KL was really nice. Managed to complete both RAW and Smackdown! season in the WWE game.
My parents went and the first place they visited was none other than the Seoul Football Stadium, to watch World Cup football, in Germany. From big television screens =P. They show my the video they took. You should have seen, the Koreans were football crazy. It's just television screen and yet the tickets were all sold out. There's even people sitting on the pitch to watch! My parents were supposed to act as if they were hardcore South Korean supporters from Malaysia... Talk about the press giving facts all the time.
Anyway, my parents' hotel room is weird. The toilet bowl can wash your bottom for you! Erps... it sprays water, and you can make it give out heat, rotate the angle of spray, etc. Lol. A technological breakthrough.
While my parents were enjoying themselves there, I was watching football at the coffee shop. Wait, it's actually a mama store. I dunno how to spell, but it's something like that. Owned and ran by Indians, unlike the shops in Singapore, which are ran by Chinese. I got to eat a like of
roti prata called
roti tissue. IIt sounds a bit funny, but it is really very thin. And it's humungous. 3 trays long. Seriously, it's so long, around 1 metre. BUt because it is so thin, one or two people could finish it. Me and my cousin-in-law ate it while watching Holland vs Serbia & Montenegro.
Awww... the holidays passed so quickly. I feel like making a petition saying that we should not have homework during holidays. It's so ironic. Holidays is a time for relaxation, but instead, we get more homework and projects. What's the point of holidays then?

This is life... Everyday I wake up for breakfast, then I do a daily stroll to the park with my grandpa, followed by playing the PS2 of my cousin. After eating lunch, I play the PS all the way till dinner. Then, more playing till 12am, then I watch the World Cup. Relaxed, isn't it?
Everyone here, I hereby declare myself a fan of John Terry (the English and Chelsea defender). 'Cuz he rocks. Anyway, I don't like Chelsea and I hate Mourinho=). You watch the England match against Trinidad & Tobago, that Stern John guy from T&T (TNT =_=''') winning the header and heading into the empty net. It looked certainly to be a goal but Terry, who had tried to head the ball away, made amends by clearing the ball off the line, and he went into the net crosslegged. I can't describe it to you, but it looked really funny. He saved England from certain damnation. Peter Crouch's Robodance is really nice, but it's so bad that he didn't do it hen he hit a header into the net at the 82nd minute to give the opening goal of the game, as well as his first World Cup goal and England's first goal of this competition. T&T conceded their first EVER orld Cup goal after around 180 minutes (Around 95 minutes from the last game against Sweden due to injury time, and 82 minutes plus 3 minutes of injury time during the end of first half.).
I heard something about this Crouch guy, a little child said this about his height,"Peter is so tall that he will have to Crouch to talk to me." Crouch's performance was unconvincing even though he scored once. There as one clear chance for him yet he missed. He was unmarked, at the centre of the penalty area, ot a nice cross from Beckham, the goalkeeper was caught unaware, and he got all the time he needed as there was no defender around. But instead he flopped a first time side volley and the ball went, according to the commentator, "miles away from the goal."
Actually I can't blame him. The whole team as unconvincing, even with Beckham trying to charge them up. Beckham as really doing a good job there, setting examples and defended really well, set up many, and I mean many, great chances, and even shot on target once.
The one unlcky soul of the game was Lampard. He made great shots at the goal, but one of them unluckily hit the post and bounced off. It was only when Eriksson brought in Lennon and Rooney (Yay! Rooney's in!) and changed the formation from 4-4-2 to 3-4-3 then the team looked fired up. Looks like Rooney gave the team a psychological boost.
Now for the second goal. Steven Gerrard is from Liverpool and represents England. Shaka Hislop is fromWest Ham, and represents T&T. Remember, in the FA Cup Final, Gerrard put the ball past Hislop twice, and no he added another to his tally. A fantastic screamer from the edge saw Hislop getting whipped again by Gerrard. No doubt, the fans wee screaming their heads and any other parts of their body off. Shaka Hislop will surely not forget Gerrard for life.
End of one nice match. But there's one prob. I still haven't see Walcott in action!!! Argh. The best match I've seen so far as the Argentina against Ivory Coast one. Ivory Coast native name was Cote de Ivoire. Cool.

Yes! The World Cup started yesterday!!! Well, at 11.30pm at my time. I watched the match, Germany against Costa Rica first, before watching the opening ceremony. I went to sleep at 3.00am today. I think they screened the match first to ensure the match being "live". Cuz I think they figured out that the match was more exciting than the opening ceremony, hich was actually true...
The score as 4-2. It was amazing and exhilarating from the start till the end. Just six minutes into the game, Philipp Lahm, the left winger, dribbled down to the left corner of the penalty area, before unleashing a powerful curve shot into the top corner. It was very well done and the 'keeper was caught unawares. It was Lahm's second international goal. And I think I'm gonna buy him for my Football Manager game, he's very good. The problem with Costa Rica was their lousy possession and first touch. They gave away the ball too easily in the first half, and even though it was better in the second half, it was still not good. The statistics showed it all. Possession %: Costa Rica 41%, Germany 59%. They are somewhat like a one-man team also. Their attack all depended on Paolo Wanchope, the striker who played in the EPL.
Anyway, after just six minutes, Costa Rica equalised, through Wanchope. Wanchope displayed good vision and anticipation when he scored the goal. It looked offside at first, and the Germans were very furious, but looking at the replay, you can see that one defender was behind him, at the opposite side of the field, far from the action area, so the Germans never saw him and thought Wanchope was offside.
The action had not ended yet. In just five minutes, the Germans struck again to restore their lead. This time, Klose, the striker scored.I remembered Klose. He scored many goals in the previous World Cup and his finishing is very good. He scored the third goal as well! After halftime, the game remained uneventful with Costa Rica losing possession often. You could see how tall the Germans were compared to the Costa Ricans and thus the Germans won headers easily. Lukas Podolski, who was said to be a clinical striker, remained anonymous throughout the game even though he had a few chances. There was one chance at the last few minutes of the game in which the right winger who replaced Schneider, the captain, crossed and Podolski could have scored easily. But instead he missed the ball and kicked a Costa Rican defender.=_='''
The third goal of the Germans as by Klose, as I have said. It was a corner and a Costa Rican player headed it, but Klose was there to receive the header and the Costa Rican 'keeper could only parry it away, allowing Klose to follow up his shot with an unstoppable shot into the roof of the net.
3-1.
But the Costa Ricans ere determined and Wanchope once again broke free of the last defender with the 'keeper to beat, and received the pass. When it looked like one German player was going to tackle it away, he flicked it to the right corner of the net.
3-2. A silver lining?
Apparently not. The last German goal sealed the victory in the 80-something minute. A screamer from outside the penalty box by the replacement captain for Schneider, wo's name I think as Frings or something like that, broke into the net like a charging bull. You should have seen how Ballack, the real captain of the Germans, reacted. He jumped out of his seat in the dugout. The rest of the Germans wre hugging each other. Ballack was out with a injured thigh which did not heal in time and even though he did not get to play, he looked happy enough with the win. Unlike him, Oliver Kahn, the previous German 'keeper No. 1, was slouching and looking glum. But when Lehmann let in two goals, his face as like saying, "See what happens if you don't choose me?" So, it as over. A thrilling starter to the World Cup. But still will not make you forget how France lost to Senegal surprisingly in 2002.
The Costa Ricans wre more of an attacking side, and you could see their defence all over the place, not marking and allowing the Germans to make killer passes. When the Germans were up 4-2, they were taking as many shots as they could take to get moe goals. It was amazing to see that even the right winger took his chance and tried to score from the right area of the quarter of the field.
Let's hope we can catch a glimpse of Theo Walcott in action today against Paraguay!

Hi... I'm very bored at home now. I like reading books, but other than that, the rest of Project Bookworm is like this blog, a necessity, not a want. I know that I will get ACE but... I didn't finish my book reflection on time and had to return those books. I know that my attitude sucks but I feel that some fun projects will help! Like the Literature brochure for Animal Farm. That was very fun to do=). Help... I will not max out my ACE for English, I think. I only get 3 ACE for this blog. Lucky I did everything for my English leadership portfolio. If I could get at least 4 ACE for it, maybe there's a silver lining. Another nice one is the Australian English Competition. Hopefully I can get 4 ACE for that.
I've done all my homework except for the Geography project and some other projects, including this Bookworm. I think Greg wants to do the Geog project all by himself... He did not arrange for my group to meet and discuss it at all...
There was CIP, wasting (not actually) time at the library to do work. Shelving was fun! But the other stuff like arranging a shelf in order was very boring and troublesome. The books were dropping out everywhere and Zi Cong, XYZ and I were working feverishly. But it was done in the end. One shelf in 1.5 hours.=_='''
I also met a polytechnic guy who said that he had a Hwa Chong brother who is now holding a high position in the St. John's EP3... Maybe I should ask Daniel about that guy.
Ole! 5 more days to World Cup!!! Brazil will surely win, no doubt about that. Even everyone hope that England might win. I don't understand why everyone likes to support England so much. I am also hoping that England might win. Maybe it's because everyone likes the EPL tooo uch that they develop a love for England? Or maybe because England was once our colonial masters? Let's just hope that Rooney recovers in time as England is a bit like a one-man team. I hope that Beckham wouldn't get a red card like against Argentina last in 1998. Fat hope that Theo Walcott will become the hero of England. He's just 17!
