The high school life. Betrayal, gossip, bullies, prejudice, Joseph. This is the life a typical high school student, especially my class. No one can trust anyone, because promises are lightly taken. Examples are aplenty in my class. People shouting out other people's crush, empty promises, etc. Lolx. The harsh reality of life is really surfacing now...
Anyway, Japanese's getting more boring. Today there was ANGLES Public Speaking Competition. It was Inter-consortium competition. But it felt like 3 against one. Ortus, Aphelion, ProEd against iSpark. Anyway, Gregory won the competition for iSpark, hooray! Yeah, and when we said "3 cheers for iSpark", Aphelion responded with a cheer back.
Louder than ever.
This is evidence of prejudice. Anyway, this brings us to our assembly today: Do people hate the iSparkians, or, GEPers?
Evidence show that only Sec 1 students are biased against the iSparkians, or as they say, the iSparkies. Many claimed that this was because of the transition period from primary school to secondary school. Some claim that it was because of a few iSparkians that stereotyped iSparkians as snobbish and arrogant. Actually, all GEPers across the country are being stereotyped as snobbish and arrogant. I feel that it is a few that tarnish the GEP reputation. Most of them are not as bad as they are portrayed. GEPers are just humans. They are the same, except with a bit more intelligence, but the mainstream in HCI are also as smart. When we are being stereotyped as such, we feel like outcasts. This is especially present in primary school, when all students are not emotionally matured yet. But slowly, we get along together better as we mature. It's just a matter of time before they realise that we are just fellow humans.
Hope that time comes faster...
(P.S. Jun Bin arrived for Japanese lessons 1 hour late. What cheek... A round of applause for him. [though it's wrong, it's guts still.])
