Hi! I just came back from Scout Recruit cum Troop Camp in school. The venture auxillaries torture us like crazy by making up knock it down every time someone do something wrong. Then there was a fire drill in the middle of the night when everyone was so tired and we had to run all the way to the tracks from the EP3 shed. In the end, we were late and so guess what happened? You all should know - More pumpings=(.
Then there was solo night on the first night of the camp. I cannot deny that I was so freaked out but I never pee in my pants (=P). The Adult Leader Gregory and the venture aux. were giving a night school tour before the solo night. Then they stopped at different places to tell a ghost story or two about that place. From the Science lab to the volleyball court, it seems that the whole school is haunted. Anyway, I'm just glad that I went through the whole night without chickening out, although some of the time I really felt like it as I did not sleep at all during the night. Anyway, we did firemaking too! We had to cook our own Maggi
™ Noodles and egg. Some people ended up going hungry as they did not manage to light the fire. Pity them.
Pity me too... I slept only 4 hours in 2 days!!! That's only 2 hours per day. So tired
Somebody is pissing me off right now on MsN, though I will not be specific. Actually, it's two people. One is using eye power and the other is shouting like hell. He is the organiser and he is not doing anything to remind the people involved in the event... while playing computer games.
Ok, I will not go in detail about the earlier camp, which is the Sec 1 Camp, and I will summarise the remaining parts. We had amazing race the next day and we took like 1hour plus to find a place that could be found in 30 minutes, and we took the same period of time to walk back as we specially stopped in a shopping mall to cool down. Haha. After that we had obstacle course. Not much to say about it...
At least there was not much punishment as the Scout Camp, maybe that's why everyone were so wild. Then it was the CAMPFIRE!!! So fun!!! Everyone was cheering their hearts out. The teachers were all smiling, like for the first time since the start of the year(Just kidding!).
So we had lots of fun, followed by our instructor showing us magic tricks like disappearing a coin, and some lame ones too. Kai Kiat was our group's best camper. Yea...
Anyway, this is one of my senior's opinion for uniform groups in my school. Don't blame me...
He says:
-Scouts is the BEST!!! (Well, he's from scouts, so DUH)
-I respect the St. John's people...as they put in effort in everything they do even though it is boring...(No comment, period)
-N(ational)C(adet)C(orps) is not worth joining as why do something that you will do in 5 years time? (I agree with him but many people join to pass their NAPFA)
-N(ational)P(olice)C(adet)C(orps) is a waste of time as they try to copy the scouts in doing things like tying knots and making fire but scouts can always do better then them in all these aspects. (I don't know about this but I see them doing fire-making...)
That's about it... Tomorrow is the LAN competition, I'm so excited!!!
